While smaller than its winter counterpart, The Summer NAMM Show still does not disappoint! Here are some of the gems we found walking the floor in Nasville, TN.
Videos are on the way!!!
Highlight #1: The HarpArm
A clever little tool for those crossover harp players out there! No need for cumbersome neck-gear to play your harp and your guitar at the same time anymore. The HarpArm uses a magnetic platform (or if your harp does not have a metallic surface, the package includes a removable magnet) to secure your harp in the right position without any discomfort or fumbling around. The Arm can attach to any upright mic stand and is easily flipped out of the way for when you need to get back to the mic!
Highlight #2: The Rupert Neve Designs 5060 Centerpiece
Rupert Neve Designs have done it again. This is THE new centerpiece for any project studio. Get the real, big board Neve sound in a home studio size format. A 24×2 Summing mixer that you can slam and get that killer analog tone. Monitor switching, talk back features, Silk Red and Silk Blue, full HUI control of your favorite DAW, and a real headphone amp are just some of the awesome features built into this small frame. HighLight #3: New V-Pick Designs
Our friend Vinny at V-Pick made another winner. The people spoke and Vinny listened. Two new picks were released by V-Pick at the show, the Mummy and the Bullseye. Tone, grip, and warmth in some of the finest picks around. The Bullseye is much like their Chickenpicker, just with even MORE grip. Great for acoustic, jazz, blues, and rock. The Mummy pick is ground out by hand, so no two Mummy picks will be exactly the same! Huge tone, Huge attitude.
Come give them a test drive!!
Highlight #4: The JamHub Tracker MT16 Recorder and BandLap App for iOS
This was the hottest item at the show (in my humble opinion). The JamHub Tracker MT16 is a 16 track recorder that can be used directly with all JamHub products, new and old, or can be interfaced with any existing mixer via the custom breakout cable made by JamHub. The MT16 will record the individual tracks onto an SD card, like most other multi-track recorders out there, but this is where things get really cool: the MT16 has built-in Wi-Fi for upload of your recording into the cloud of the BandLab App! Once in the app, all band members who have been given permission will have access to all the tracks so that they can listen to their recording, solo out specific instruments, edit and arrange their tracks, and mix it down! This is going to be THE centerpiece tool for any teacher, rock school, or school program to allow students to continue their musical education and practice at home. Video Coming Soon!
