Musical Interests

Playing loud music through big speakers. Trying to learn all the digital consoles without giving myself a headache. Ingesting way, way too much caffeine. Writing music. Building and modifying guitars to my liking. Ibanez RG550’s. Marshall 2203’s. Cigar box guitars. Tritons and flatted fifths. Garbage, VH, 30STM and anything and everything else that’s modern, dramatic and heavy with occasional keyboards and electronica thrown in. Guitar heroes: EVH, Vai, G. Moore, Lynch, Sheehan & Gilbert. Even though I mainly listen to and play hard rock and heavy metal although I grew up around Bluegrass! Not so different really – as the good bluegrass players can really shred. I also like a lot of pop/rock music, which is a guilty pleasure of mine. Not sure if I should admit that or not…

No one is a newbie at Chuck’s. here in the Pro Sound Department alone, we have a combined experience of something like 100 years! No, we’re not quite that old – we’ve just been doing this all of our lives. Our crew is made up of guys with diverse backgrounds and experience and our collective knowledge can make a real difference to your project. For myself, this meant guitars and amps, to full-line combo, to a decade of broadcast sales – and now here at Washington Music – surrounded by other musicians, DJ’s, sound guys and tons of gear!

History With Chucks

My history with Chuck’s goes back long before my employment here. My grandparents lived nearby and I used to ride my bicycle to the sore to drool over the guitars. I bought my first real guitar here – a Fender Strat. I bought my first Marshall stack from Mr. Levin himself. I discovered the ADA Flanger here, which made me an instant hero with my friends, since I could now sound just like Eddie! This is not your average music store – Chuck Levin’s is a Washington DC area institution with a strong legacy. You can feel it when you walk through the door. We have a broad and diverse customer base here – each with his/her own needs and budget – and it is our goal to consistently deliver the best sound possible to our clients. From the guy who just wants a small system for his basement, to the mobile DJ, touring band, nightclub owner, church or commercial contractor – we are here to help.
