Pro Audio Manager

Chuck Levin's Washington Music Center has built a community of knowledgeable and passionate team members to ensure that music-making remains accessible to all. As one of the country's largest dealers of professional audio equipment, live sound reinforcement, installed sound solutions, studio recording, lighting, and DJ accessories, we are searching for a full-time experienced sales professional to manage our Pro Audio department. 


Our sales staff should be experts in their field and must be able to offer customers well-informed, personal assistance aligned with modern industry standards. A Pro Audio Sales Manager would oversee this team as a whole to ensure that sales, administrative, operations, and shipping goals are met. Qualified candidates will have a strong familiarity with the most common industry manufacturers, brands, models, and technology involved professional audio and sound reinforcement (in-studio and live production) as well as a history in management positions. 


This is full-time role with benefits including healthcare, dental, life insurance, 401(k), and paid leave. Saturday availability is required to be considered for initial employment. 


 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Work closely with the sales team to meet or exceed pro audio sales targets. 
  • Implement effective sales strategies and promotions to drive pro audio product sales 
  • Oversee the organization and maintenance of the pro audio inventory, including regular stock checks 
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to direct reports regarding pro audio equipment and solutions. 
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to customers regarding pro audio equipment and solutions. 
  • Negotiate promotions and marketing collaborations with manufacturers to drive product visibility and sales growth 
  • Oversee the merchandising strategy, ensuring our products are presented attractively and optimally organized to enhance the customer shopping experience 
  • Manage employee schedules and approve PTO is a manner that consistently ensure fairness and adequate coverage while optimizing labor costs 
  • Assist customers in selecting the right products to meet their specific needs, whether for live performances, recording studios, or other audio applications. 
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of knowledgeable and customer-focused employees  
  • Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment. 
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and new product releases in the pro audio and sound equipment sector. 
  • Share knowledge with the team and incorporate new products into our inventory as appropriate. 

 

 

Requirements: 

  • 3+ years of experience in management  
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Passion for music and Pro audio gear  
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering exceptional service 
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including Saturdays, to accommodate customer and store needs 
  • Strong knowledge of Pro audio technology, sound systems, and recording equipment 

 

 


Professional audio experience will be evaluated based on a history and familiarity with the following: 


  • Analog and digital mixers 
  • Speakers and line arrays 
  • Wired and wireless microphones 
  • In-ear monitoring systems 
  • Studio equipment (monitors, subs, outboard gear, etc.) 
  • DJ controllers and media players 
  • Lights, DMX, and truss 
  • Installed sound solutions
