Get A Uniquely Crafted Trumpet with the Charles Davis 1S-2 West Coast Bb Trumpet - Silver Plated

Charley Davis has been one of the most sought after lead trumpet players in the LA studio scene. His career spans over 45 years, which includes hundreds of motion pictures, numerous television shows, jingles, big bands, Broadway shows, and many Las Vegas showrooms. Charley has performed with Woody Herman, Buddy Rich, Bob Florence, Bill Holman, Emil Richards, Frank Sinatra, Paul Anka, Michael Buble, Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Placido Domingo, as well as other prominent artists. He has performed for these animated TV series: The Simpsons, Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, American Dad, The Smurfs, The Jetsons (later version), Scooby Doo, and more!

In addition to his experience as a trumpet player, Charley has always been interested in the design of the trumpet. Over the years, he worked directly with manufacturers to refine the dynamics and sound of this instrument. While many famous trumpet players have manufactured instruments played by musicians in the Los Angeles studios, most of these brands have not survived. Those that have survived do so in name only without the characteristic color of the original horns. Over the course of his career, Charley has played many of these prized instruments crafted by artisans long gone. Armed with the belief that he and his fellow professionals would embrace a finely crafted trumpet of exceptional sound, Charley followed his vision and took on the task of creating a contemporary version of those venerated horns. Charles Davis Trumpet Design The legacy Trumpet designs have all but disappeared or changed once the craftsman and artist passed on. The Charles Davis Trumpet is a return to the traditions of design and sound.

Improvements have been made in manufacturing to deliver a horn of present day standards. Valve action and construction have greatly improved while remaining true to the original design. Handcrafted Style The Charles Davis Trumpet is uniquely crafted in the style of the artisan, and with great attention to detail. Mr. Davis personally plays each instrument before it is shipped, adjusting it for the desired response and sound. Further, to insure the highest quality, each Trumpet undergoes a Bob Reeves Valve Alignment with the certificate of authenticity enclosed. The #2 Lead Pipe offers a freer blow with less resistance and has improved flexibility. This is the world-renowned leadpipe - great for any situation. Its unique design provides lightning-quick response with a very open air column. The 2 pipe gives the player the ability to play at any volume with immediate, clean attacks and a large, focused sound. This lead pipe combined with the 1S bell have been the work horse of many of the top LA studio musicians over the last 50 years. The 1S Bell is the bell that set the standard for all commercial bells to follow. Developed in the 60's by Domenic Calicchio to meet the demands of studio trumpet players in Los Angeles, it remains the mainstay of the professional commercial trumpet playing community to this day. Its unique bell flare design gives projection, focus and sound quality unsurpassed in the industry. It can be played with any leadpipe and will produce the core, density and sparkle that has been cherished by top professionals for over 40 years.

Here is what Rick Baptist, legendary LA studio recording artist has to say about the Charles Davis LA West Coast Trumpet: "Those of us who know Charley know he is a genius at making a horn play better with his way of tinkering with the horn. I am so thrilled he is finally making his own model. I played the prototype, it plays fantastic. It’s very smooth and even throughout the horn, and the scale is right on. Bravo Charley, it is about time you did this. Sincerely, Rick Baptist."
