Drawing from the revered EB-style SG basses of the 1960s—played by many of the era’s most influential artists—this model delivers authoritative low-end, punchy mids, and a smooth, fast-playing character that has long made it a favorite onstage, and in the studio.

The SG Bass features a solid mahogany body with deeply sculpted contours for exceptional comfort during long playing sessions. Its set mahogany neck is carved into a comfortable Medium C profile that suits a wide range of players. With a 34" long-scale design, it offers enhanced tonal richness, deeper bass response, and a more robust overall voice. This updated version adds a rosewood fretboard, fitted with 22 medium jumbo frets, and decorated with classic pearloid trapezoid inlays.

At the headstock, the Epiphone logo and Gibson crown are elegantly rendered in mother-of-pearl inlays. Vintage-style open-gear tuners with clover-shaped buttons provide dependable tuning stability, working alongside a Graph Tech nut for consistent performance. Nickel hardware completes the look, including a three-point bridge that allows for precise adjustment of string height and individual intonation, while ensuring strong sustain and reliable string anchoring. Fueling the SG Bass’s commanding sound is a pair of humbucker pickups, pairing a Sidewinder in the neck position with a Bass Mini Humbucker at the bridge. Each pickup has its own dedicated volume and tone controls, equipped with high-quality CTS potentiometers. A three-position rotary switch enables straightforward pickup selection, delivering a versatile and intuitive control layout. Blending vintage-inspired design with modern performance, the Epiphone SG Bass is built to meet the needs of today’s players while honoring its heritage. It also includes a premium gig bag, offering dependable protection for storage, and for travel wherever your music leads.

SPECIFICATIONS

Body

Binding: None

Body Material: Mahogany

Body Finish: Gloss

Body Shape: SG

Body Style: Solidbody

Neck

Neck Profile: Medium C

Frets: Medium Jumbo

Joint: Glued In, Set Neck

Fingerboard Material: Rosewood

Nut Material: Graph Tech

Inlays: Trapezoid

Fingerboard Radius: 12 in. | 304.8 mm

Binding: Single-ply

Scale Length: 34 in. | 863.6 mm

Hardware

Bridge: 3-Point Adjustable Bass Bridge

Finish: Nickel

Plastics: Black

Tuning Machines: Open-Frame with Clover Buttons

Control Knobs: Black Top Hats with Silver Inserts

Pickup Cover: Nickel

Electronics

Neck Pickup: Sidewinder Bass Pickup

Bridge Pickup: Bass Mini Humbucker

Controls: 2 Volume, 2 Tone

Pickup Selector: 3-Way Rotar

Manufacturer: Epiphone
Model: EBG3CHCHR
SKU: I933266-N-1-WHXX
UPC: 711106247533

We are Chuck Levin's Washington Music Center

Since 1958, Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center has been the trusted destination for musicians and audio professionals across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
