Share the Mojo of a Legendary Guitar - The Gibson Kirk Hammett "Greeny” Les Paul Standard - Greeny Burst

Originally owned by Peter Green, Greeny was used throughout his time with Fleetwood Mac, and actually started as a bright cherry red sunburst. After countless shows, it has now faded to a pale-yellow color. Greeny’s distinctive sound is partially from the out-of-phase middle switch position due to the neck pickup’s reversed magnetic polarity.

Peter sold the guitar to Gary Moore in the 1970s. Gary played it for three decades with Thin Lizzy, and then as a solo artist, he even recorded an album, which he aptly titled, “Blues for Greeny.” After years together, Greeny was sold and temporarily retired, left waiting for a chance to return to the stage.

Currently, that very same guitar is owned by Kirk Hammett. Greeny has officially passed through the hands of three legendary guitarists, and now you can share in that legendary Greeny mojo.

“To be able to share some of that mojo which ‘Greeny’ has means a lot to me. It’s exciting to know that anyone can experience some of that ‘Greeny’ magic. I truly think these models are just as inspiring as the original and hope you do too!” – Kirk Hammett

This new core model version will give players around the world the opportunity to experience some of the magic of "Greeny" for themselves. Built in Nashville, Tennessee, this guitar will feature a mahogany body and neck, a AAA figured maple top, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard. It does not come with Murphy Lab aging, but its Greenybucker neck pickup’s reversed magnetic polarity bewitches this guitar with Greeny authenticity. An Original Series hardshell case is included.
