Each March, music educators across the country come together to commemorate Music in Our Schools Month, a national celebration aimed at raising awareness about the importance of providing quality music education to all children. A crucial aspect of this initiative is when school boards and state governors issue proclamations affirming that access to music education is essential in their communities.
At Chuck Levin's Washington Music Center, we have always prioritized supporting our school systems and music educators above almost anything else. We understand the significance of music in the lives of our youth. Music education enhances the school experience by nurturing cognitive, emotional, and social development, fostering creativity and innovation, promoting cultural understanding and empathy, and building a sense of community and belonging. Now more than ever, our educational systems require our assistance to keep music alive and thriving in our schools.
Members of the Levin Family are continuously engaging with Congress, visiting the Governors of Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC, and even participating in the annual NAMM Advocacy Fly-In, where they march on Capitol Hill to advocate for music education.
It is crucial for everyone to show their support not just during this month but every month for our music educators and school systems.
