Fit Your Entire Bass Rig in Your Backpack – Meet the Darkglass Anagram

Emory Hensley |

What if your entire bass rig fit in a space smaller than a Subway sandwich? That’s not just hype—it’s exactly what the new Darkglass Anagram Multi-Effects Bass Workstation delivers.

Whether you're heading to a rehearsal, studio session, or packed stage gig, the Anagram puts all your core tones and effects into one ultra-portable unit. And we mean everything—amp sims, overdrives, compressors, EQs, pitch shifting, noise suppression, and even cab emulation. The Anagram isn’t just another pedal. It’s a full system designed with modern bassists in mind.

Next-Level Performance Powered by AI

Inside the Anagram, you’ll find six parallel processing cores working in tandem with an onboard Neural Processing Unit (NPU) to deliver effects processing with virtually no latency—just 1.3ms. That means real-time tone shaping, with no lag and no compromise.

Control is at your fingertips with an intuitive multi-touch display that makes scrolling through presets, dialing in effects, and switching between amps as simple as using your phone.

Tour-Ready Sounds Right Out of the Box

In our demo, we explored some of the factory presets—and wow, they’re anything but generic:

  • Crunch Loader gives you a rock-ready tone with just the right bite.
  • Fuzz Loader and Distortion Loader take your sound from gnarly to aggressive.
  • Sauna by the Water offers a looser, more vintage vibe—reminiscent of classic rock greats.
  • Grona Cooler, an apparent nod to Gallien-Krueger tones, nails that punchy, modern bass sound.
  • Super Calli and Microtubes X push your tone to creative extremes.
  • And of course, Alpha Omega and Duality Fuzz showcase the signature Darkglass grit.

Then we tapped into some of the most beloved voicings in the Darkglass universe—Harmonic Booster, Vintage Microtubes, and the ever-popular B3K—each capturing signature flavors that bassists have relied on for years.

Custom Presets for Pro-Level Mixes

In the final part of the demo, we stacked a 6-band EQ, Darkglass noise suppressor, Hyper Luminal compressor, B3K overdrive, Super California preamp, and ran it through a modeled Ampeg 8x10 cabinet mic’d with a Shure Beta 52. The result? A massive tone that held up in the full mix with absolute authority—and it all came from one tiny unit.

Whether you're gigging regularly, producing at home, or just want a no-fuss rig with real-world versatility, the Darkglass Anagram is the last bass processor you’ll ever need.
