RCF has rebuilt its ART line, and the new ART 8 Series is the part most working players will care about: a powered two-way speaker that is lighter, louder, and smarter than the box it replaces. There are three of them, the ART 815-A, ART 812-A, and ART 810-A, and the only real difference between them is woofer size. Same amp, same waveguide, same processing across the board. You pick the one that fits the room and the load you want to carry.

Every model runs 1400 watts of Class D bi-amplification, split 1000 watts to the woofer and 400 to a 1.75 inch compression driver. That is a lot of clean headroom for a cabinet this size. The 815-A hits 130 dB max SPL, the 812-A and 810-A both reach 129 dB, so even the 10 inch box keeps up in a surprisingly big room. All three cover the same 100 by 60 degree pattern, so you can mix and match across a system and keep the coverage consistent.

What sets these apart from the usual plastic powered speaker is the processing. RCF builds in FiRPHASE, their FIR filtering that keeps the whole signal in phase across the listening area. In plain terms, vocals sit where they should, the image stays clean off to the sides, and the system stays coherent instead of smearing as you move around the room. There is also XBOOST, a low-frequency enhancer you switch on right from the rear panel when you are running without a sub and want more weight down low without the mix turning to mud.

The cabinet is a special polypropylene composite with internal M-Brace reinforcement, which is RCF's way of saying it is light to carry but stiff enough that the walls are not buzzing along with the music. The angled side profile lets you tip any of them on the floor and run it as a stage monitor, and a heavy-duty steel grille protects the drivers and ports when it inevitably gets loaded in and out of a van. The 815-A weighs about 49 pounds, the 812-A about 42, and the 810-A about 35, so there is a real weight savings as you step down in size.

The True Resistive Waveguide is the other piece worth understanding. Instead of a traditional horn, RCF shapes the high end with a waveguide that behaves like a resonance-free load, which cuts the harshness and hard edges horns are known for and holds even coverage across the room. Paired with the FiRPHASE processing, the whole front of the speaker works as a single source rather than a woofer and a tweeter fighting each other.

RCF ART 815-A rear panel with combo XLR input, link output, volume, XBOOST and mic/line controls

The back panel keeps it simple. You get a combo XLR and quarter inch input that takes a mic or a line signal, a balanced XLR link out to feed the next speaker, a volume knob, the XBOOST switch, and a mic/line selector. Thermal and RMS protection plus a soft limiter are all built in, so the amp looks after itself when somebody pushes it. Up top there is a 35 mm pole socket, and RCF offers covers, flying brackets, and wall mounts if you are installing rather than gigging.

Choosing between them comes down to the room. The 810-A is the grab-and-go: smallest, lightest, and plenty for a small bar, a DJ rig, or fill duty. The 812-A is the all-arounder most people land on, enough low end for a band without a sub but still easy to move. The 815-A is the one to reach for when you need to fill a bigger room or want the most low end before adding a subwoofer. Any of the three makes a clean, capable monitor as well.

The ART line has always been where RCF's engineering shows up at a price gigging players can actually hit. The ART 8 Series carries that forward with better processing and a lighter, tougher cabinet.
