Fender is taking its vintage-inspired lineup in a more focused direction with the launch of the new Vintera III Series, a collection built to capture some of the most iconic moments in Fender history with greater accuracy than ever before.
Rather than broadly pulling from entire decades, the Vintera III range narrows in on specific eras and specs that players continue to chase today. The result is a lineup designed to deliver the look, feel, and sound of some of Fender’s most celebrated instruments from the early, mid, and late ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s.

This new series represents a major step forward for the Vintera family. Fender has reworked the concept from the ground up with a stronger focus on period-correct design, era-specific pickups, recreated neck shapes, and historically informed details throughout each instrument. From colors and finishes to headstocks, inlays, decals, and construction choices, Vintera III is all about getting closer to the spirit of the originals.
According to Fender, the company’s engineers revisited original archives to help develop vintage-style pickups tailored to each era. Players can expect the warm, rounded character of Alnico II designs as well as the punch and clarity associated with Alnico V, depending on the model. Fender has also recreated a range of historic neck profiles, including the fuller V and D shapes of the mid and late ’50s, the comfortable medium C profiles of the early ’60s, and the slimmer C shapes associated with the late ’60s and early ’70s.
Max Gutnik, Chief Product Officer at Fender, described the goal of the series as focusing on the defining moments that shaped Fender’s legacy. That approach is what makes the Vintera III launch especially exciting. These instruments are not simply vintage-inspired in a general sense. They are built around the specific details that players, collectors, and longtime Fender fans have always paid attention to.

The lineup covers a wide range of classic Fender designs, including Stratocasters, Telecasters, offsets, and basses. Models in the collection include the Vintera III Late ’50s Stratocaster, Early ’60s Stratocaster, Late ’60s Stratocaster, Late ’50s Telecaster, Mid ’60s Telecaster, Mid ’60s Jazzmaster, Mid ’60s Jaguar, Mid ’60s Mustang, Early ’60s Jazz Bass, Early ’70s Jazz Bass, Late ’60s Precision Bass, and Early ’60s Bass VI, along with select limited edition models.
There are some standout details across the range that vintage Fender fans will appreciate. The Late ’50s Stratocaster pairs an alder body with a one-piece maple neck and late-’50s “D” profile, while the Early ’60s Stratocaster leans into chimey single-coil tone and a rosewood fingerboard. The Late ’50s Telecaster brings the classic V-shaped neck and 3-saddle bridge setup, while the Mid ’60s Telecaster offers a slightly different feel and spec set that reflects Fender’s evolution during that era. Offset fans get a strong showing as well, with the Jazzmaster, Jaguar, and Mustang all represented with period-correct features and vintage-style hardware.

The bass side of the collection is just as compelling. The Early ’60s Jazz Bass and Early ’70s Jazz Bass each offer their own distinct take on one of Fender’s most iconic bass designs, while the Late ’60s Precision Bass delivers the familiar punch and warmth that helped define recorded bass tone for generations. The Early ’60s Bass VI also stands out as one of the more intriguing models in the lineup, bringing back a favorite for players who want something deep, different, and unmistakably Fender.
What makes the Vintera III launch especially appealing is that it is not just about nostalgia. It is about giving today’s players access to some of the most desirable Fender designs and tones in a more intentional way. Whether someone is drawn to the snap and articulation of a late-’50s Strat, the twang of a vintage-style Tele, the jangly voice of a Jazzmaster, or the punch of a classic Jazz Bass, this series offers a more era-specific way to connect with that history.
For Fender fans, vintage enthusiasts, and players who have always wanted more than a broad reissue-style experience, the Vintera III Series looks like a strong step forward. It is a lineup built around the details that matter and the sounds that shaped modern music.
The new Fender Vintera III Series is here, and it is shaping up to be one of the most exciting vintage-inspired launches Fender has delivered in years.
