New: The item is brand new as received from the manufacturer with a full manufacturer warranty. Instruments such as guitars, snare drums, drum kits, brass and woodwind instruments may be opened for photography and quality control inspection and may not be in a factory sealed box.
Mint or Open Box: The item may have been opened and tested but has been repackaged. The original packaging may have superficial issues but the item itself and any originally included accessories are in perfect, like new condition.
Display Model: These items are so cool that we put them on display in our legendary shop. The condition is brand new as received from the manufacturer with manufacturer warranty. Rest assured, these items undergo a very careful inspection before shipping.
Demo: These items have been on our sales floor for demo purposes and will likely show signs of use. The original packaging may no longer be included, but you can be assured that you are receiving an awesome item and an awesome price.
Used: The item is used. These item may have varying degrees of wear. Please read the description for information about the condition of the item. Used items do not carry a warranty.

Captured by New York's vibrant Latin jazz scene, Martin Cohen founded LP in 1964 for artists with traditional Cuban drums and modern advancements. LP has created this limited collection of fiberglass drums to honor founder Martin Cohen. These Martin Cohen Signature Congas drums are reminiscent of LP's '70s era with a stunning Champagne Sparkle finish and a vintage badge. In addition to these striking features, these drums offer the durability and bright and punchy tone of fiberglass shells. Available in three sizes, each drum stands at 28" and is fitted with rawhide heads, traditional rims, and chrome-plated hardware. Each includes a note signed by Martin Cohen. For nearly 40 years, founder Martin Cohen was the driving rhythm behind LP. From its foundation in 1964, he passionately pursued making instruments that were a beacon of quality, performance, and style. The Martin Cohen Limited Collection represents a golden era of Latin Percussion instruments made to honor its founder.
Meet Martin Cohen
In the early 1960s, Martin Cohen experienced Latin jazz live at the Palladium Ballroom in Manhattan and fell in love. Buzzing from the performance, the Bronx-born engineering student shortly tried to purchase bongos and found there were none available due to the Cuban embargo.
This discovery set Martin on a mission to design and build his own instruments, and he built strong relationships with New York City’s legendary artists to gain credibility. The new entrepreneur founded LP in 1964 and rapidly innovated in the decade ahead with patents like the Vibra-Slap. In the late 70s, Martin managed the Latin Percussion Jazz Ensemble (featuring Tito Puente), which opened the European market and took LP global.
Today, LP remains an enduring symbol of musical quality, craftsmanship, and passionate rhythm worldwide.
