The AKG C314 Matched Pair is a professional stereo set built for accurate, detailed recording in studios, concert halls, and live environments. Each microphone uses a 1-inch dual-diaphragm capsule based on the heritage of the C414 XLS, delivering a wide 20 Hz - 20 kHz frequency response, low self-noise, and precise transient detail. AKG selects each factory-matched pair using computer-aided matching to achieve closely correlated frequency response and virtually identical sensitivity for realistic three-dimensional stereo recordings.

Its 1-inch dual-diaphragm capsule delivers a full 20 Hz - 20 kHz frequency range, while low self-noise helps preserve quiet details. Dual computer-matched diaphragms provide accurate polar-pattern performance, and the integrated suspension helps isolate the capsule from unwanted mechanical noise.
Four Selectable Polar Patterns
The C314 offers Cardioid, Supercardioid, Omnidirectional, and Figure-8 polar patterns, making the microphones flexible enough for a wide range of recording techniques. Supercardioid can help reduce spill when recording drums or ensembles, while Figure-8 can be useful for dual-vocal, stereo, and other specialized recording configurations.
Overload Detection and Bass Control
An overload detection LED makes it easy to see when signal levels are approaching overload, helping engineers determine when to engage the attenuation pad. The 100 Hz bass-cut filter helps control low-frequency rumble, vibrations, boomy sources, and proximity effect for more balanced recordings.
Matched for Stereo Recording
Realistic stereo recording requires consistent performance between microphones. Every factory-matched C314 pair is selected from individual microphones using AKG's computer-aided matching process. This provides close correlation across the frequency range and virtually identical sensitivity for accurate localization and dimensional stereo recordings.
