Mint or Open Box: The item may have been opened and tested but has been repackaged. The original packaging may have superficial issues but the item itself and any originally included accessories are in perfect, like new condition.
Display Model: These items are so cool that we put them on display in our legendary shop. The condition is brand new as received from the manufacturer with manufacturer warranty. Rest assured, these items undergo a very careful inspection before shipping.
Demo: These items have been on our sales floor for demo purposes and will likely show signs of use. The original packaging may no longer be included, but you can be assured that you are receiving an awesome item and an awesome price.

Measuring only 2.3” wide, the NEW Barber Gain-Changer SR harnesses a vast spectrum of EQ and gain. Flick the toggle one way and you have sweet very low-gain overdrive, flick it the other way and you get wildly charged harmonic content of our much praised unLimiTeD distortion. Pop over to the other toggle-switch and you can volley between the flat sweet-EQ of the LTD SR , the vintage snarling-fat-EQ of our classic LTD v2 or a new voice that combines flat EQ with a little added fatness. Combine all these different options together and you have a super-versatile harmonic beast. Our goal was to shrink the size of our pedals and retain all the ultra-high quality electronics and build quality that we are world famous for. In the end, it’s almost impossible to miss the target if you are shopping for a new overdrive for your rig, “it’s like shooting fish in a barrel Jethro.”
The Gain-Changer SR has real honest solder lugs for jacks, True-bypass footswitch, toggles and pots. There are no worries about PCB mounted thru-panel parts that can’t be serviced on the road, or that lead to high cost repairs. Nothing but the best tried and true hand-built methods adorn the interior of the Barber Electronics Gain-Changer SR. The Gain-Changer SR has a generous 2 1/2” of clearance between the front edge of the footswitch and the back edge of the knobs, no more worries about changing your settings with each click of your footswitch. Buy a hand-built Barber Gain-Changer SR, and enter a world of immense overdrive possibilities.
The Gain-Changer was designed to be a highly versatile and compact overdrive pedal. Barber Electronics has incorporated sounds from the LTD, LTD SR and unLimiTeD into the Gain-Changer in order to solve most guitar player’s overdrive needs in one small pedal.
The toggle switch on the left is the “EQ switch”. This switch allows you to go from LTD SR EQ (toggle switched to the right), to LTD v2 EQ (toggle in the middle), to a setting that sounds “flat+fat” (toggle switched to the left). The “flat+fat” setting is meant to give you a “flat EQ” sound like the LTD SR, but with added fundamentals to help keep the guitar “in the mix.”
The Right toggle is the “Gain Switch.” This switch goes from the med/high gain of our unlimited pedal (toggle set to the left) to the low gain of our LTD series of pedals (toggle set to the right).
The volume control sets the output of the pedal; most players can find unity between 10 o’ clock and 2 o’ clock, depending on their pickup output and the guitar’s volume setting.
The tone-control sets the equalization; most players will have this set between 10 o’ clock and 3 o’ clock. The LTD SR setting favors lower tone-control setting and the LTD toggle setting favors using 2-3 o’ clock on the tone-control.
The Gain control sets the amount of sustain and drive. Low settings below 12 o’ clock with the gain toggle set to LTD (right), can add just a little “push” to your sound, while settings beyond 2 o’ clock add a nice chunk with transparent dynamics. Switch the gain toggle to the unlimited position (left) and the gain control now serves up a healthy dose of harmonics and singing sustain past 3 o’ clock. It’s worth it to explore using the unlimited toggle setting with very low gain control settings (below 10 o’ clock), you can find some nice barking grind by using the unLimiTeD setting counter intuitively.
