Modern Functionality - The Epiphone SG Electric Bass Guitar with Cherry Finish
A celebrated fixture in rock music’s legacy, the Epiphone Inspired by Gibson SG Bass returns with a thoughtful refresh that elevates feel and modern functionality while maintaining the distinctive tone and attitude that have shaped generations. Drawing from the revered EB-style SG basses of the 1960s—played by many of the era’s most influential artists—this model delivers authoritative low-end, punchy mids, and a smooth, fast-playing character that has long made it a favorite onstage, and in the studio.
The SG Bass features a solid mahogany body with deeply sculpted contours for exceptional comfort during long playing sessions. Its set mahogany neck is carved into a comfortable Medium C profile that suits a wide range of players. With a 34" long-scale design, it offers enhanced tonal richness, deeper bass response, and a more robust overall voice. This updated version adds a rosewood fretboard, fitted with 22 medium jumbo frets, and decorated with classic pearloid trapezoid inlays.
At the headstock, the Epiphone logo and Gibson crown are elegantly rendered in mother-of-pearl inlays. Vintage-style open-gear tuners with clover-shaped buttons provide dependable tuning stability, working alongside a Graph Tech nut for consistent performance. Nickel hardware completes the look, including a three-point bridge that allows for precise adjustment of string height and individual intonation, while ensuring strong sustain and reliable string anchoring. Fueling the SG Bass’s commanding sound is a pair of humbucker pickups, pairing a Sidewinder in the neck position with a Bass Mini Humbucker at the bridge. Each pickup has its own dedicated volume and tone controls, equipped with high-quality CTS potentiometers. A three-position rotary switch enables straightforward pickup selection, delivering a versatile and intuitive control layout. Blending vintage-inspired design with modern performance, the Epiphone SG Bass is built to meet the needs of today’s players while honoring its heritage. It also includes a premium gig bag, offering dependable protection for storage, and for travel wherever your music leads.
