For decades, his heavily modified Precision Bass has been the beating heart of his unmistakable, deeply soulful tone.

Fitted with a Hipshot BT3 Bass Xtender for flexible low-end range changes, dual EMG active Lee Sklar P pickups for stunning clarity and output, a BadAss II Bridge for maximum sustain and intonation, and a modified Precision Bass neck shaved down to Jazz Bass dimensions dressed with mandolin frets for a uniquely fluid playing feel, the bass became as distinctive and unmistakable as the man himself.
