The Nord Stage 4 88 combines Nord's acclaimed Organ, Piano, and Synth sections with an 88-key Triple Sensor Hammer Action keyboard, Aftertouch, extensive hands-on controls, and powerful layering and performance tools. Designed for demanding stage and studio players, it offers three independent sound engines, advanced effects, flexible splits, physical drawbars, and deep real-time control in one performance-focused instrument.

Advanced Performance Control
The Nord Stage 4 provides 512 Program locations arranged across 8 banks with 8 pages per bank and 8 programs per page. Eight Live Programs offer immediate access to performance setups, while two individual Layer Scene setups allow players to quickly switch between complex configurations. Three Morph sources—Modulation Wheel, Control Pedal, and Aftertouch—provide expressive real-time control.
The keyboard supports up to three split points for four keyboard zones, with visual LED indication between zones. Three split-point width options—Large, Small, or Off—allow smooth crossfades between sounds. Programmable transpose, internal and MIDI clock functionality, and tap-tempo control provide additional flexibility for live performance.
Organ Section
The Organ section features Nord's C2D B3 Tone Wheel Organ simulation along with Vox Continental, Farfisa, and two Digital Pipe Organ models. Physical drawbars with LED graphs offer direct hands-on control, while B3 Bass mode, percussion, vibrato/chorus, and two independent Organ layers provide extensive performance possibilities.
Piano Section
The Piano section includes 2 GB of memory for Nord Piano Library sounds and supports 120-voice polyphony. Categories include Grand, Upright, Electric, Digital, Layer, and Clav/Harpsichord. Three selectable keyboard touch curves—Heavy, Medium, and Light—allow players to tailor the response to their playing style.
Piano Timbre controls provide custom settings for electric pianos and Clavinet, while acoustic Grand and Upright sounds support String Resonance. Additional features include selectable Soft Piano Release, Pedal Noise with compatible Nord pedals, Dynamic Compression, Unison functionality, and two independent Piano layers.
Synth Section
The Synth section is powered by the Nord Wave 2 Synth Engine with Sample Playback and includes a dedicated OLED display for waveform, sample selection, and parameter editing. The 1 GB Nord Sample Library memory can be fully replaced using Nord Sound Manager for Mac or Windows.
The Synth offers 46-voice polyphony with Analog, Digital Wave, FM, and Sample oscillator types. Filter options include a classic transistor ladder filter, 12 dB and 24 dB Low Pass, High Pass, Band Pass, and combined Low Pass/Band Pass modes. Advanced envelopes, three Unison modes, LFO, Vibrato, and an advanced Arpeggiator with Arp, Polyphonic, and Gate modes provide extensive sound-design capabilities across three independent Synth layers.
Comprehensive Effects
The Stage 4 features dedicated effects for extensive real-time sound shaping. Mod 1 includes Tremolo, Auto Pan, Ring Modulator, Wah-Wah, Auto-Wah, and Pump effects, while Mod 2 provides Phaser, Flanger, Vibe, Chorus, Ensemble, and Spin.
The Delay section includes Tempo, Feedback, Dry/Wet Mix, Ping Pong, Tap Tempo, selectable feedback filters, feedback effects, and an Analog mode. Three amp and speaker simulations—Twin, JC, and Small—are complemented by tube amp overdrive, filtering, three-band EQ with sweepable mids, Rotary Speaker simulation, compression, and six Reverb algorithms with Dark/Bright modes and Variation/Chorale options.
