Get Legendary Sound And Feel With Vic Firth SPE3 Peter Erskine Big Band Signature Drumsticks
Combines the shaft dimensions of a 5A and 5B with a long taper for an effortless rebound.
Appearing on more than 500 albums and the recipient of two Grammy Awards, an honorary doctorate, and winner of numerous "Best" polls, Peter Erskine is an artist requiring no further introduction! His two Vic Firth Signature sticks have become standards to drummers worldwide, yet Peter found that more work was still to be done!
"As much as I love my Ride Stick, Peter explains, I found myself wanting and needing a slightly heavier stick. This is especially true when playing with a big band or another type of large ensemble. The larger sticks I tried did not have the same pleasant balance or assistive "throw" that my Ride Stick has. I wanted the same fantastic cymbal response and sound that the Ride Stick produces, only "stronger" when need be. So I decided that it was time to marry the Ride Stick to my fantasy."
The new Peter Erskine Big Band Signature Stick is made of hickory and combines the shaft dimensions of a 5A and 5B. A long taper makes the rebound effortless yet maintains a full-bodied sound, and a teardrop tip provides excellent cymbal definition.
Peter goes on to say, "Vic Firth, the man, is first and foremost an artist of the highest order and a drummer and teacher who understands the musical and mechanical challenges in playing percussion. His expectation for the best and most suitable stick or mallet fuels every decision made by his team members. And with this team, we have simply created the best stick I've ever played. Give it a try, and I think you will agree!"
