Explore Rich Acoustic Resonance and Expressive Fretless Playability – The Warwick RockBass Alien Deluxe Hybrid Thinline Fretless Acoustic-Electric Bass Guitar in Natural Transparent Satin
The Warwick RockBass Alien Deluxe Hybrid Thinline Fretless is a high-quality 4-string acoustic bass that impresses with its meticulous craftsmanship, select materials, and versatile pickup system. Its 32" medium scale offers comfortable playability. The shallower thinline body makes the instrument particularly manageable and comfortable to play, while being specifically designed for amplification via the integrated pickup system. The solid spruce top ensures a clear response and a balanced sound profile. Laminated walnut back and sides give the instrument a refined look and support its resonant tonal characteristics. The set-neck mahogany neck guarantees optimal vibration transfer and contributes to a balanced tone. The high-quality Tigerstripe Ebony fingerboard offers the distinctive look and feel of a fretless instrument, allowing for particularly direct and expressive tone shaping. Green fluorescent "glow-in-the-dark" side dots make it easy to navigate the fingerboard confidently, even on dark stages. The height-adjustable Warwick Just-A-Nut III Tedur nut allows for quick, precise string action adjustment via a set screw, ensuring maximum tuning stability and brilliant sound. Equipped with a Shadow NanoMag pickup beneath the fretboard and a Shadow NanoFlex piezo pickup under the bridge saddle, the Alien Thinline offers versatile options for shaping your sound. The Shadow E-Sonic 2HD preamp allows for precise adjustment of both pickups. Separate volume and tone controls are provided for each pickup, while a blend control makes it easy to adjust the mix between the two sound sources. An integrated phase switch allows the signal polarity to be reversed by 180 degrees; this helps suppress feedback and enables an optimal blend of the two pickups. Additionally, a built-in tuner allows for quick and convenient tuning directly on the instrument, while a battery status indicator provides reliable information on remaining battery life. Two outputs are available for signal transmission. Output 1 transmits the preamp signal and also serves as the strap pin. Output 2 transmits only the signal from the magnetic Shadow NanoMag pickup and is located below the endpin jack. This gives the Alien Thinline added flexibility for the separate or individual processing of the two signal paths. High-quality hardware - including chrome-plated Warwick machine heads and a wenge bridge with slotted bridge pins - ensures tuning stability and durability. Practical features like Warwick S-Security Locks provide extra security when playing while standing. Visually, the bass impresses with its elegant Natural Transparent Satin finish, which beautifully highlights the natural grain of the woods used. Weighing approximately 2.8 kg and featuring a slimmer body, the Alien Thinline feels comfortable to hold and remains easy to play even during extended sessions. Included with the instrument are the matching RockBass Starline Premium Gigbag (WRB BAG ALIEN THINL), a Warwick strap, a truss rod wrench, a Warwick microfiber cleaning cloth, a Warwick fret protector, and Warwick S-Security Locks.
