Spector’s ICON NS family is getting a little closer to its roots. Following the ICON NS Bolt-On series that launched in summer 2025, the new ICON NS Neck Through basses bring one of Spector’s defining construction methods into the lineup. The signature curved body, crown inlays, and custom-voiced Aguilar electronics are all here, now paired with neck-through construction and highly figured quilted maple tops. And with finishes like Haunted Moss and Purple Cherry, these aren’t exactly trying to blend into the background.
Available in four- and five-string configurations, the new models start at $1,699.99. Here’s what Spector has put together.
A Classic Part of the Spector Recipe
Neck-through construction has been part of Spector’s story from the beginning, and it’s the centerpiece of this release. Each bass pairs a three-piece maple neck-through design with alder body wings and a rosewood fingerboard, bringing the sustain, stability, and connected feel that Spector associates with this construction.

Designed by the Spector Custom Shop in Woodstock, New York, the ICON NS Neck Through models also feature the company’s fully curved body and Custom Shop neck carve. The focus is as much on how the bass feels in your hands as how it sounds, with familiar Spector details carried throughout the design.
Aguilar Handles the Electronics
The new neck-through models carry over the custom-voiced Aguilar electronics package heard in the ICON NS Bolt-On line: Aguilar DCB pickups paired with an Aguilar OBP-2 onboard preamp.
That combination is built around deep, punchy lows, articulate mids, and clear highs, a powerful voice with the definition to find its place in a mix. The pickup layout changes with the string count: the four-string gets a reverse P/J configuration, while the five-string uses dual soapbars. Both bring that Aguilar pairing to the new neck-through design.
Quilted Maple, Gold Hardware, and Four Distinct Looks
Spector took visual inspiration from its custom builds, and the highly figured quilted maple tops give these basses plenty to work with. Both models come in four gloss stain finishes: Black Stain, Haunted Moss, Purple Cherry, and Black and Blue.
Gold hardware ties the lineup together, including a fully intonating locking bridge, high-precision tuners, a polished brass nut, and signature Spector control knobs. Add the crown inlays, and there’s no mistaking the family resemblance.
Choosing between Haunted Moss and Black and Blue might take a minute.
