Some keyboards give you a long list of sounds. The Yamaha PSR-SX620 gives you a band.

Built for aspiring solo performers and players who want complete musical arrangements without programming every individual part, the PSR-SX620 combines a portable 61-key keyboard with more than 1,000 instrument Voices, 450 preset Styles, and automatic accompaniment that follows the chords you play.

Choose a Style, start playing, and the PSR-SX620 fills in the rhythm, bass, and harmonies around you. Whether you are working through a song at home, accompanying yourself as you sing, or building a set for the stage, it gives you a full musical foundation from a single instrument.

More Than 1,000 Voices and 450 Styles

The PSR-SX620 gives you a wide-ranging sound library that includes electric pianos, organs, vibraphones, strings, and much more. Its 450 preset Styles cover rock, jazz, Latin, and music from around the world, giving you plenty of ways to reshape a song or explore a completely different genre.

The important part is not simply how many sounds and Styles are included. It is how quickly they become part of your performance. Because the accompaniment responds to your chords, the backing arrangement moves with you rather than forcing you to follow a rigid track.

Bigger Built-In Sound

Yamaha has also redesigned the PSR-SX620’s internal speaker system with a new Bass Reflex Port and an enlarged internal Sound Box. The result is fuller-range sound with improved bass response, all coming directly from the keyboard.

For practicing, playing at home, or sharing music with friends, that means you can sit down and get a satisfying sound without immediately connecting external speakers. When it is time to perform, the PSR-SX620 can also connect to a PA system, and a microphone can be plugged in so you can sing while you play.

Hands-On Control for Live Performance

A good arranger keyboard needs to make complex features feel immediate, and Yamaha has placed the PSR-SX620’s primary performance tools within easy reach.

Assignable Live Control knobs let you adjust selected sound characteristics in real time, while the joystick provides expressive pitch and modulation control for bends, trills, and other performance techniques. A clear LCD display and intuitive control layout make it easier to change Voices, select Styles, and keep the music moving without getting buried in menus.

The Chord Looper is especially useful for players who want more freedom at the keyboard. Record a chord progression, let it repeat, and you can concentrate on two-handed playing, improvisation, or soloing without continuing to hold down the accompaniment chords.

Yamaha’s Style Section Reset provides another useful safeguard during a performance, bringing the backing arrangement back to the downbeat with the touch of a button.

Play Along, Expand, and Make It Your Own

Bluetooth audio lets you stream songs from a compatible device directly through the keyboard, making it easy to practice along with your favorite recordings.

The PSR-SX620 can also grow with your music. Additional Voice and Style Expansion Packs can be managed through the Yamaha Expansion Explorer app, giving you access to sounds from different musical traditions and regions.

For musicians with an existing MIDI song library, Yamaha’s MIDI Song to Style app can automatically transform standard MIDI files into playable accompaniment Styles, complete with intros, endings, and drum fills. It is a practical way to turn music you already use into something more flexible and performance-ready.

Who Is the Yamaha PSR-SX620 For?

The PSR-SX620 is designed primarily for aspiring solo performers, but its combination of automatic accompaniment, built-in speakers, play-along features, and live controls makes it a strong choice for a much wider range of players.

It is for anyone who wants to sit down and hear a complete arrangement immediately. It is for singers who want to accompany themselves, keyboardists who perform without a full band, and home musicians who want an instrument that can move naturally from practice to performance.
